The Mage specializes in offensive magic. He comes with the bolt spell - which can pass through and strike multiple enemies in a line. Offensive spells in MazeQuest have many different spread patterns, and some are specific to being useful against certain foes on certain levels.
The Mage is best if you keep him off of the front lines - as his robes provide little if much protection. Unlike melee or weapon attacks - spells hit every time - which is the advantage of having a spellcaster in your group.
